singing kbox with another group of friends is really a refreshing experience. the scope of songs is different.



funny. ben just can't smile properly. he'd have a forced smile and it just tickled me to imagine how pressurizing he must have been feeling then. there. i feel so extra. haha! i'm so glad annie came.

woa. they actually left without singing till 7pm. pardon me for my kiasuism but who can blame me since i'm born a singaporean? fine, i'm auntie but it'll really be a waste of money not to fully utilise the room.

sakura food is nice! science centre has lots of little 'experiments' outdoors to cater to people who are feeling bored. i still remember i went there with clara and yan on a rainy day and we went to some place in science centre to make our own customised bottle of coloured sand. it was ages ago...

anyway, the food was nice and the ambience was not bad. the space might be a little squeezy but it's still alright. i like the desserts - gui lin gao! =) the ice cream was superb. i volunteered to help my sis dig for the ice cream. after which, many people came along, wanting a share of theirs too. so i was trying to make as huge a ball of ice cream as possible and upon seeing the crowd, decided to make them smaller than what i had wanted since i couldn't get them any bigger. but some idiot came over and pointed to my sis's bowl and told his friends that my sis took such a big plate and embarrassed her. this is a buffet, for god's sake, and it's a blessing to be able to eat. it's not as if he took any lesser than her after that. how idiotic that guy can be.

how sad. after today's dinner, the gst will rise to 7%.

private institutions can do whatever they want, including pushing forward the last day of application without any notice. their management should really get themselves organised. jan called me to inform me of their sudden decision to close their application date during lunchtime. i was acting nonchalant and telling her that at the most, i'd just apply for the next batch. after which, i started panicking and took an urgent half day leave to go down to sim.

they told us that the application date is already over.

damn you. i would have slap the decision maker's face because i was so agitated that i kept bombarding the counter people like crazy though i knew that they didn't want to listen. bloody hell. yesterday, the dateline was 14 july, today it became 21 june. obviously we wouldn't have any evidence to show that you all changed the date ON THE SLY without any prior notice. so that's how a private institution function and when people question about it, the only thing you all can say is that the response is overwhelming and it's a decision from the management above to close the bloody application date?

i seriously think the management above should bloody well come out and face the public themselves instead of making the staff at the counter their scapegoat. if the staff wasn't that polite, i'd have kicked up a big fuss. what's the point of giving us feedback form? the only reason i can think of is to avoid direct contact with us so that they needn't face our bombardment and questions because i seriously would have argued my way and make a bloody commotion down there.

come to think of it, if they're going to reject any of my application just because i wrote those nasty things to them on the bloody feedback form, then so be it. it's not like there aren't any other private institutions around. thank god the staff at the counter was nice, if not, i'd really explode.

this bloody thing totally spoilt my mood to go out with my besties.

first day at hq! we got separated into 3 groups, with only as and me going to the same department. that's a relief to know that i have at least a friend with me. :D

there's so much to learn such that there's absolutely no time to slack. learnt how to stamp passports and time flew!~~~ knock off! i'm still quite confused but i think i'll adapt to it soon! :D

we spent our whole day at an ulu place in bugis trying to hard sell yan's shoes. the rain came pouring when we're setting up the stall and some vendors were upset with the location and the lack of crowd that the place was at. frankly speaking, i felt a bit guilty for making yan go to such length to design the shoes and carry all of them to that secluded place and for wasting money. but still, it was a refreshing experience.

after which, it's dinner at memoirs again! :D

look at how happy yan is eating her char kway teow. it's neither very oily nor salty which was opposite of what i had thought it would be. :D mui fan was yummy and very filling! there's a live performance at 8pm too! it's at bugis, behind the bugis village, well hidden by all the fruit stalls. nevertheless, the lesser people know of it, the better the ambience! at least we can enjoy some peaceful moment! :D

oh damn it. i flunked my driving test. how unfortunate. :( i was totally pissed with the whole thing because i thought they asked common sense questions and i actually failed! that goes to show that i really lack certain common sense. that's depressing.

we went to yan's house in the evening to help her with her shoes for tomorrow sales. ok, i didn't exactly help much, only sew beads on a pair of black shoes. her shoes are so pretty! please do support her at chottolatte.com as her shoes are REALLY REALLY pretty! :) do support!

it's mrs pang (who was my supervisor for the past month)'s last day here and the supervisors treated us to pizza for lunch. it's not very filling as i only ate 2 slices and some hash browns which were shaped like stars plus a couple of chicken wings.

hm. we've cleared most of the stuff at redhill. i'm not in a very good mood and might have snapped at shar. i think she will fight for the things that she likes to do. i'm having mixed feelings about going to hq. i heard that the people are stricter and frequently complain. hopefully everything will be fine.

met up with kirstie, stella and sharon and they gave me my birthday presents! i got a blouse from sharon and stella which was from fox and kirstie gave me a cute little decorative pot. i guess i can use it to keep some accessories. kirstie treated us a sumptuous meal at the manhattan fish market at plaza singapura!!! it's yummy!

sales had started at taka since don't-know-when. it certainly had its own unique impact upon certain people. definitely, it spurred more people into looking and trying at the shoes. not so much of my shoes, but the brand next to me. poor joey, she took out so many pairs of shoes yet only 2 people bought. but i thought time flies when you have work to do.

anyway, a 20% off bonia shoes is really a lot! imagine you getting a $200 pair of shoes and 20% would mean $40 off! how many meals you can eat with that! but then again, people buying bonia shoes didn't really have to bother about how many meals they can eat. i really think bonia's generous in giving discounts. it's always 20% while others only offer a miserable 10%. ok. such a workaholic.

a ha! on a side note, i should really get a pair of u.r.s pumps during this sales!

i really hate it when people come to buy my shoes when the shop is closing. for goodness sake, if you have some compassion, you won't want people to panick and get your shoes for you and wait for you to get your feet inside the shoes and decide whether you want the shoes or not. 2 customers came during the closing time and i had to serve them. thanks so much, huh? the whole world doesn't revolve around you only.

i told sandy i want to quit and she asked me why. i'm really not good at lying because all the excuses i had thought of before that didn't come out and i told her plainly that if i couldn't get inside any university, i need more money to go into private universities and i would find a better paying job. shouldn't have said this. damn. i felt bad because i indirectly said that i could have gotten a better job given my qualifications. i wonder if i had hurt sandy.

i hope i get my pay next week. this is my motivation for continuing.

kbox again! i really love to sing but we went to another outlet this time round. still, their pricing changed again, though i know better than to trust their supposedly 'standard pricing'. today's opg's birthday anyway and he had already booked me in advance a long long time ago. since he had decided on singing, might as well. oh, this time round, the pricing is even more expensive than my previous time though we opted for the student package. don't ask me why. their pricing system sucks.

after singing, we went to pastamania for a feast. we went round and round vivocity trying to find a less crowded place and yet offers low budget meal. quite impossible, especially with a crowd. so we walked over to harbourfront centre. oh well. i ate my third birthday cake, which was also my present for opg.

and yay!, he got to rush home for another round of celebration, so he took a cab home! good for me as i lived near him! hip hip hooray! :)

i ate my second birthday cake today! it's the second cake which my friends baked for me THIS YEAR ALONE! :) that's because i'm so lovable! :P thanks janice for the lovely cake! she can open a bakery in future.

thanks for the hard work in making my present too! wenz took half day off to make it, oh well, she admitted she didn't do much but i guess taking half day off especially for me is indeed honourable! thanks babe! :) the present is a collage of pictures with ME inside! how narcissistic but it's definitely well done! i've placed it on top of my piano! the mosaic tiles are neatly stacked too! i'm so impressed by their idea! :) it's a great gift!



and xiaoli, thanks for giving me souveneirs from hong kong. haven't tried the chocolate yet, and thanks for the minnie mouse which couldn't balance herself. haha!

thanks babes for the lovely cake!!! i was wondering why the two people were so late today. then i saw the cake they brought when they came and haha! i knew it! up till then, yan was still cursing the person at the bakery for not giving her any ice to maintain the coldness of the cake.

i swear, the cake was ultra humongous and ultra thick! the strawberries were so packed, spiralling round and round the top of the cake topped with two layers of agar-agar. it's probably the only cake i've seen in my whole life to have the ingredients so generously used. after a while, the 3 of them started to pick faults with the cake while i thought it'd be impolite for me to do so as they'd gone through so much trouble to give me the first present i've received this year for my birthday. =P only then did i realise that they had made this cake themselves!

i went to sim to apply today, only to discover that the closing date was yesterday. i applied nonetheless because i told the person at the counter that the in-charge didn't mention about any closing date. so he asked if i called or emailed. i emailed twice this week and 2 different persons replied me too. he wanted to check my email to doublecheck that the person really didn't tell me. fortunately, i didn't delete my mail away. ha! i have evidence to show that i'm not lying.

messaged as to tell her that the application's already over. she didn't reply me. even if she wants to apply now, it's all too late. haiz~

and i had the worst kbox experience today. it was alright until the end when we questioned the staff about the pricing. should i blabber? i can't help it but to do so.

那个价钱如下。也不知道他们到底是不是算这个价钱的，如果不是，为何网上和在柜台前都放着相同的价钱？


服务我们的小姐说我们的总共付费将会是$14+++ 。真是奇怪。按照他们所定的价钱，今天是星期六，普通价钱将会是$16+++， 但如果用学生价就会是 $12+++。他们到底怎么算价钱的？怎么样算都不对啊！我们以为她会检查我们的学生证，所以都拿出来，但她并没有检查。

我们问她：“我们不是学生配套吗?"

她说：“如果你们是member，就不可以享用学生配套。”

那就这样吧，规矩是他们定的。

过后，我们有再问拿水进来的人，我们是不是学生配套。因为不是，所以可以选择更多种类的饮料。

唱完了之后，我们走到柜台去结账，他竟然拿了一张不是我们的账单给我们。那时我们真的吓了一跳。四个人怎么唱到一百多块去？仔细一看，怎么变成五个人帐单？他们自以为是地认为我们就是刚才打电话要求要结账的人。还好我们没有白白的帮那些人付了钱。

因为chu要问member points的东西，所以我们就顺便问了k student和normal rate的分别，还有为什么我们不可以享有学生配套。刚好那边的经理在场。真是好极了！如果他不在，那个柜台服务人员一定会说不知道，是前一个人说的。

经理说：“噢! 因为我们在某段时候是不会有k student的。所以你们只可以用normal rate进去。”

我：“可是你们这边（我指着柜台前的pricing list）放的价钱是这样，为什么我们不可以享有学生配套？”

经理说：“这里的是不准的，我们有时会有promotion，所以回换价钱。”

怎么可能有promotion反而更贵的事？

我：“那你们的价钱不是很unstable？况且你们这边也写星期六是有k student的。”

经理说：“我帮你打电话给刚才那个柜台人员，你自己跟她讲。”
我跟她将有个屁用啊？她都已经回家了，死无对证。
（那时，站在旁边的柜台人员已经打给之前的那个了，所以我只好听咯。还有，在这之前，我并没有觉得什么，之后却触发了我的火气。）

我：“喂，你刚才跟我们说我们不可以享有学生配套因为我们用k member，对吗?”

她：“对呀，如果是k member 就不可以以学生价进去。我们在每一位customer进去之前都会跟你们explain好的。你们又没有讲你们要k student。”

所以是有k student的咯！哪那个经理之前在说什么？

我：“我们在进去之前不是有问你我们的是不是k student吗？你说用member就不可以用学生价，不是吗？”

她：“你们都没有问啊！”

去死啦，我们问了好多遍。

整个对话就是在说她已经有跟我们解释了，我们自己答应用normal rate了。在这之前，她说我们没有问有没有student rate。

后来，她终于说，“你们有问，可是你们没有说你们要k student啊！”

拜托，这时的我已经忍无可忍了，说了声“等一下”就把电话还给他们。第一，谁不要会询问？在那种情况下，我们就是要那个配套了呀！所以大家，以后去买东西的时候要说，“uncle, 我要一碗面。”不可以说，“uncle, 有没有面？” 因为人家可以说有然后就不理你了。第二，既然k student会比较便宜，她应该向我们介绍这个配套。我并不是说这是她的责任，不过她应该向我们解释清楚两个配套之间的差异，然后让我们比较，而不是硬塞一个给我们。当我们再度问起时，她就应该解释了。第三，她明明就没有解释，还说什么会跟每一个customer解释了才带他们进去房间里。嘿~~~ 公说公有理，婆说婆有理。

站在他们的角度，他们可能已经很了解整个系统，所以会忽略一些细节。但对我们来说却是很重要的事。

后来那个经理愿意再让我们多唱两个小时，说是可能是由于没有沟通好之类的话。哎呀，算了啦。哪里还会有心情再进去唱？

i've gotten rejected by ntu. what the... why send it to me only at the end of the whole application period and it's a rejection letter?! thanks so much. moe claimed that the universities have expanded the slots by 23%. sure? they said that the standards have maintained as the previous years after excluding the guys who have gone into the army. crazy shit. if i were born last year, i'd at least get projects!

what the heck! i really don't know where all the slots have gone to. i can only keep my fingers crossed for sim. i heard that sim's becoming very hot too. thanks huh. so much for being a dragon baby.

i feel so depressed.
